Koopa Haresh Hardness Tester is used for
capturing indentation image in Micro Hardness Tester in order to
measure the indentation diameter and real hardness calculation
in Brinell, Knoop, and Vickers methods. Each workpiece can be
tested in 9 points and the results will be in one group. The
hardness of each point is displayed and statistical calculations
like maximum, minimum, average, range, and standard deviation
are applied on the group. Method, Force, Magnification, and
Indenter diameter can be selected by the software.
The user can use two cursors
in order to measure the indentation diameter in every direction.
The user can have a color or black and white video or change the
brightness as well. In Brinell and Vickers two diameters can be
measured, but there is just one in Knoop method. The average
diameter is used for hardness calculation in Brinell and Vickers
methods. The average hardness is calculated whenever a new test
is added to the group and this value is used for the average
indentation depth.
The optical system can be
calibrated in two ways; direct calibration and indirect
calibration. In direct calibration a micron/pixel coefficient
has to be set to convert the distance in pixels into real
distance. In indirect calibration a distance between two points
has to be chosen on the image and then this distance has to be
set in micron. The software automatically calculate the
micron/pixel coefficient.
